We have been following F/A-18A+ #162909′s progression from vanilla line Hornet to SU-35 imposter for a couple weeks now and here she finally is in her new duds, ready to ambush experienced and inexperienced naval aviators alike!

Great work VFC-12 and the NAS Oceana paint shop crew! This thing looks amazingly accurate when compared to pictures of the Sukhoi Su-35′s splinter scheme. I think this is my favorite scheme flying on a fighter in the US right now. If you like it too I have some great news for you, as VFC-12 swaps out it’s F/A-18Cs for VFA-87′s F/A-18A+s eventually the entire squadron will be painted up like this! Because I mean hey, what is better than an aggressor Hornet painted up in a SU-35′s black and white splinter motif? Easy answer: 12 aggressor Hornets painted up in a SU-35′s black and white splinter motif!
