The Chinese dragon continues to spread its wings, this time in the form of an indigenous heavy transport aircraft that has a similar configuration to the C-17 Globemaster III. It is amazing how fast their aerospace industry is moving on these massive projects…

Hard to tell from these images but the engines still look like low bypass Soloviev D-30 variant engines such as used on the IL-76. If so, the aircraft will lack the power needed to be a successful 21st century transport. I wonder if they will try to copy Russia’s Aviadvigatel PS-90 to supply the aircraft with a sufficient high bypass turbofan.
You know – we teach them in North America – and then they go back and build similar aircraft. Tanks. Ships. Something wrong here I think.
Sterling- Would be amazed if this ends up being the production powerplant. Expect a low bypass turbofan.
Rwmdron- Don’t hate the player hate the game! Who could blame them? We are the ones that do not lock down our secret docs and communications on the net and we sell them/exchange with them a ton of tech that is dual use. Yes we are very big suckers, Washington should be ashamed.
Yep, we invite them over to check our stuff out.
Is it too early to say that China is on a rise militarily?
