    I have had the pleasure of flying several hundred hours on 74-2065. She was stripped of all her rockets and AR system. Most people never knew of her interesting history before resuming regular Tactical Airlift duties back at Dyess AFB.

    Pretty wild! Wonder how much the airframe’s life was used up every time the rockets were fired….it looks to me like the bird takes a beating…

    I wonder if this technology be combined with UAV/sensor/automation technology to be more workable? JATO doesn’t seem that hard, but letting the computer do the landing might be safer, albeit nerve wracking.
